01 / Capabilities

Engineering around your operation.

Scope is defined around the needs, equipment and conditions of each project.

  • Storage control

Integration of setpoints, states and charging and discharging limits available in the system.

  • Integration hardware

Supply and integration of control and communications hardware included in the project.

  • EMS integration

Coordination of the BESS with energy management and defined operating modes.

  • Hybrid generation

Integration with solar and generators according to architecture and equipment capabilities.

  • Operational information

Measurements, alarms, states and historical data within the supervision scope.

  • Testing & commissioning

Verification of control interfaces and functions against project criteria.

02 / Solution focus

A clear scope. Control and integration.

SIENCA develops control and integration and supplies the hardware associated with these functions. Batteries and inverters are supplied by other project vendors.

Interfaces and responsibilities

What we define with you before execution.

A clear scope reduces integration risk. These points are agreed in writing at the start of the project.

  • Battery and inverter vendor and the documentation of their interfaces.
  • Manufacturer operating limits and warranty conditions that affect control.
  • Supply boundaries between SIENCA and other vendors.
  • Requested control functions and their relationship with the EMS or PPC.
  • Joint test plan with the system manufacturer.

How we implement it

Engineering with a clear sequence.

  1. Understand

    Needs, installation and operating conditions.

  2. Develop

    Architecture, hardware and programming.

  3. Integrate and test

    Interfaces, functions and acceptance criteria.

  4. Support

    Commissioning and agreed technical support.

Support

Support continues during operation.

For solutions implemented by SIENCA, we offer remote assistance and recurring site visits within an ongoing maintenance program.

Service arrangements and coverage defined for each project.

  • Remote technical assistance.
  • Recurring site visits.
  • Ongoing maintenance program.

Frequently asked questions

What clients usually ask us.

Does SIENCA supply the batteries?

No. SIENCA develops BESS control and integration and supplies the hardware associated with those functions. Batteries and inverters are supplied by other project vendors.

What does BESS integration include?

Control of setpoints, states and charge and discharge limits; control and communications hardware; coordination with the EMS or PPC; supervision with measurements, alarms and historical data; and testing and commissioning.

Can a BESS be integrated with solar and generators?

Yes, depending on the architecture and equipment capabilities. Integration with solar and generators is defined together with the project’s operating modes.

Do you work in the Dominican Republic and other countries?

Yes. SIENCA works from Santo Domingo on projects in the Dominican Republic and Latin America, with assistance in Spanish and English. Working arrangements are defined for each project.
